As we approach the highest holy days of the Christian year, we warmly invite you to join St. Columba’s, Inverness for the celebration of the Sacred Triduum, culminating in the joy of Easter Sunday. The Triduum (Latin for “three days”) is one continuous liturgy unfolding over Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Great Vigil of Easter. Together, these services celebrate the history of salvation from Creation to Redemption. A history of Love poured out, suffering faced with courage, death held in hope, and new life in the most unexpected of places.

All services are open to the public.

Maundy Thursday – April 1 | 8:00 pm

Liturgy & Washing of the Feet

We gather to remember Jesus’ final meal with his friends and his commandment to love through humble service. The washing of feet invites us into vulnerability, care, and shared humanity.

Good Friday – April 2 | 12:00 pm & 3:00 pm

12:00 pm – Outdoor Ecological Way of the Cross

We walk together outdoors, praying with creation and reflecting on suffering, grief, and our shared responsibility for the healing of the earth.

3:00 pm – Veneration of the Cross (in the nave)

A solemn and spacious liturgy where we honor the mystery of the cross and the depth of Christ’s love.

Holy Saturday – April 3 | 8:00 pm

The Great Vigil of Easter & Celebratory Reception

Beginning in darkness, we tell the great stories of salvation, light the new fire, renew baptismal promises, and proclaim the Resurrection. A celebratory reception follows as we rejoice together.

Easter Sunday – April 4 | 10:00 am

Liturgy of the Resurrection & Easter Brunch

We celebrate the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and love over fear. Easter Brunch follows. Come and feast with us.

If you are longing for meaning, beauty, or hope in these dark days, you belong here. Come as you are. Bring a friend. Walk with us from the table to the cross and the empty tomb.
